Cru Uncorked in Moreland Hills sits on the expensive side, but serious foodies may get their money's worth. The kitchen takes classical dishes and gives them a modern twist, with high-quality ingredients and laborious, time-consuming sauce work behind sophisticated, chef-driven plates.

Marble Room is a steakhouse and raw bar in the Garfield Building on Euclid Avenue, Cleveland's first skyscraper, built in the late 1800s by the sons of President James Garfield. Marble columns, Italian marble wainscoting and vaulted, coffered ceilings fill the former bank, whose vault now hosts private dinners. The menu runs to American classics like oysters Rockefeller and beef tartare, but the dozen well-executed steaks are the reason to come.

Dante is chef Dante Boccuzzi's namesake restaurant in Tremont, one of his earliest openings and still a tried-and-true table. Its eclectic cooking draws on his years in kitchens in Japan, China, Italy, France, England, San Francisco, Washington, D.C., and New York City.

Blue Point Grille has been a beacon of fine dining in the Warehouse District since it opened in 1998, in a room of soaring ceilings, towering windows and grand columns with gold capitals. Fresh seafood is flown in daily, and the standouts include Nags Head grouper with lobster mashed potatoes, garlic spinach and chive veloute.
