Wollersheim Winery & Distillery · Prairie du Sac
Wisconsin's most recognized winery, a National Historic Landmark site outside Prairie du Sac that also took the distillery gold in the same 2025 readers' poll. It runs tastings and tours alongside its production, making it as much a destination stop as a working winery.
Drumlin Ridge Winery · Waunakee
A winery set in the drumlin hill country just outside Waunakee, which took silver in the 2025 readers' poll for winery. The rolling glacial terrain around the property gives it a distinct setting compared with the flatter vineyard land elsewhere in the region.
Campo di Bella · Mount Horeb
A twenty acre farm winery near Mount Horeb that makes its wine from cold hardy grapes grown on the property, and cooks Italian and French leaning farm to table dinners by reservation on Friday and Saturday evenings. Madison Magazine puts it a twenty five minute drive from the city. Order the house vermouth, and the red wine vinegar to take home. There is an Airbnb on site if the drive back feels long.
