The Wightman family started this Morris County farm in 1922, and Time Out New York sends visitors to the market for the homemade apple cider donuts once the picking is done. The farm is built around mazes, and Time Out counts a giant corn maze, a hay bale maze, a paver maze and a rope maze among them. The market carries produce and prepared meals such as lasagne and meatloaf to take home. Admission runs as a season membership with apples priced by the pound. Battleview Orchards · Freehold
A family farm in Monmouth County that has been running since 1908, where Time Out New York points at the cider doughnuts in the Country Store as the thing not to miss. Pick your own runs through the calendar, from sour cherries and peaches in summer to apples and pumpkins in autumn, with scenic hayrides on weekends. The Country Store stays open all year and closes on Tuesdays. Order a bag of cider doughnuts at the store counter and carry them out to the orchard rows.
