They make a compact entry into the same spice vocabulary that runs through the restaurant's goat, oxtail, and pepper pot, all served from the Old North Sacramento dining room.

Calabash gives Jamaican cooking a composed restaurant setting on Del Paso Boulevard in Old North Sacramento. Chef Ever Champagnie's menu moves through curry goat, oxtail with butter beans, seafood pepper pot, and several jerk preparations. The island flavors stay recognizable, but they arrive with a little more structure and plating than a casual takeout counter would give them.
