Eddie's Place on South Sharon Amity Road may be known for its all-day breakfast, but it's the she-crab soup that gets people talking. Prep cook Alberto Toussaint has made it since the restaurant opened in 1997, in five-gallon batches: velvety and creamy, with generous flecks of blue crab in every spoonful and a little cruet of sherry with every order for shaking a few drops on top. It comes as a cup or a bowl, the bowl with warm salted bread for dipping, and around the holidays customers buy it by the quart.
