Hale ʻAina Gold for Best Mediterranean in 2021 and again in 2026. Chef and owner Hettema spent a year getting the Kakaʻako space open, finally unlocking the doors at the end of June 2020, and chose it for the vine-covered trellis over the patio because it reminded her of home. Her line on the place is worth repeating: the power of food can take you out of the darkest times, and sharing that food is what matters.
