Maven's Delicatessen in Pawtucket makes its matzo ball soup with a dark, schmaltz-rich broth and thin-sliced carrots, deeply flavored and melting on the tongue. The matzo balls vary, some light and some a little dense, but the bowl is comfort all the same, close to what a bubbe would make. Order the matzo ball soup.
