Ed Oliver first sold butcher's wares from a Sixth Avenue storefront in 1923, and his great-grandsons Rich and Jim have run the counter since the late 1980s, trading quips with customers as they cut. Westword named the shop Best Old-School Butcher Shop in its 2024 Best of Denver awards. Little here is pre-packaged; orders are trimmed to request and wrapped in white paper. Ask for the housemade sausages, more than forty varieties from German and Italian to Cajun, most of them from the store's original recipes.
