A Westbrook chocolate maker where Kate Shaffer makes the chocolates, selling from a small retail boutique beside a mostly online business and working in direct-trade, single-origin chocolate from Latin America. Its Farm Market chocolates take their flavors from local farm produce, vegan chocolates have been in the line since the 2007 founding, from dark bars in ancho chili-pecan and almond-sea salt to peanut butter and tahini cups, and the frog-shaped Frogletiers are a year-round item. Order the peanut butter cups.

Down East Magazine points to this Westbrook chocolate maker's drinking chocolate as richer and silkier than a standard cup, made by melting actual chocolate into warm milk rather than starting from powder. Five varieties rotate through the shop: classic dark chocolate, pumpkin spice, matcha white chocolate, chai and a spiced ancho chile version. Order the ancho chile for the heat, or the classic dark if you want the base recipe the other four build on.
