How locals rank it
From the local food press
- Southern
Co-owner and executive chef Ana Hall serves Southern soul food with a tapas-style twist in the former Blue Ultra Lounge space just east of the Delmar Loop, and George Mahe's run of plates is the order guide: skillet cornbread with candied pecans, chicken bacon mac and cheese, fried catfish tacos, shrimp and grits, pimento cheese hummus, chicken and waffles. Sauce adds the Delta Dragon sticky ribs. A hidden multi-level patio with fire pits sits behind the 85-seat room.

- Late Night
The kitchen east of the Delmar Loop turns into Soul Lounge after 9:30, and Sauce reports a late-night menu running from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. that keeps about half the dinner list. Owner Doug Nguyen names what stays on it: the Delta Dragon sticky ribs, the okra, the chicken and fries, and the shrimp tacos. Order the ribs, which are battered, fried and then bathed in a sweet and tangy sauce. DJs work the room through the night.
