Elvia Galindo first brought homemade tamales to the tire shop to give waiting customers something to eat, and demand turned the idea into a restaurant. Order the tamales at the 700 West location. The family recipe began as Elvia's own, and the dish remained the restaurant's draw when the dining room grew beyond its first few tables.
