Williby's Catfish is a Gentilly takeout shop and market with its own indoor catfish pond, where the fish are netted, cleaned in plain view and in the kitchen minutes later. The coating is a house blend of cornmeal and corn flour with Creole seasoning, crunchy and a little nutty, over clean, slightly sweet meat. Order the whole fried catfish, fins and all. On Fridays in Lent the shop adds a crawfish bisque, and customers line up before it opens.
