Jamaican Grille serves a focused menu of oxtails, jerk chicken, curried chicken and goat, patties, rice and peas, callaloo, and plantains. The Atlantic Springs Road storefront keeps the experience direct and casual, with generous platters designed for takeout. Traditional drinks and baked snacks round out a compact introduction to everyday Jamaican comfort food.

Mum's Jamaican Food carries family recipes into a Capital Boulevard counter lined with stews, jerk chicken, oxtail, rice and peas, cabbage, and patties. Owner Sherine Lewis learned the cooking from her grandmother, a lineage reflected in the kitchen's charcoal-grilled jerk seasoning. Portions are ample, and the format favors an unfussy lunch or dinner plate.

Boricua Soul blends Puerto Rican cooking with Southern soul food in bowls, platters, and hand pies. Pernil, arroz con gandules, tostones, collards, macaroni and cheese, and fried chicken meet without losing their individual roots. The American Tobacco Campus restaurant grew from a food truck, retaining a concise service style while giving the menu a permanent home.

Jamaica Jamaica has served South Durham since the 1990s, building a broad menu around jerk, curry, barbecue, seafood, and vegetarian dishes. Hefty portions and an active dining room make it useful for groups with different appetites.
