K Style Kitchen · Albuquerque
A Korean kitchen where Gil's Thrilling and Filling Blog calls the wings meaty, juicy and tender, a step up from the desiccated norm. Get them in soy garlic or bourbon barbecue, or go for the Korean fried chicken, then add beef bibimbap, bulgogi or japchae. Ownership changed hands in 2026 but the recipes carried over.
Frank's Famous Chicken & Waffles · Albuquerque
Founder Frank Willis, a former University of New Mexico basketball player, built this soul food kitchen around the chicken and waffles he missed from Los Angeles. Wings come in styles like Nashville hot, buffalo and Honey Hot, and the twelve-wing-and-two-waffle plate is the move. It reopened in 2021 after a fire and keeps drawing crowds.
Happy Chickenzz · Northeast Heights
Gil's Thrilling and Filling Blog rates these wings as moist, tender and crispy as any in the Duke City. Six sauces run from garlic soy to the Laotian-leaning Cluckin' Hot. Order the Happy Wingzz in Cluckin' Hot, or the Diablo chicken sandwich with slaw and chipotle aioli. It moved to the Montgomery Boulevard Bourbon House complex in 2024.
