Rowley Farmhouse Ales is a brewpub on Maclovia Street at the edge of the Casa Alegre neighborhood with gourmet wings on its food menu. The kitchen makes them with Mary's chicken, Korean-style: sticky-sweet, with soy sauce and vinegar soaked into a crisp, eggshell-thin outer layer, finished with roasted peanuts and green onions and served with a cucumber salad. Order the Korean-style wings with a farmhouse ale from the taps.

The Ranch House is Josh Baum and Ann Gordon's barbecue restaurant on the Southside, cooking in the style of Baum's Texas roots, with its meats smoked over Texas oak. The wings come off the same smokers: big, meaty wings, smoked first and then sauced, and they make a Southside alternative to the game-day crowds at the chain wing bars. Order the house-smoked wings.

Jambo Café is chef Ahmed Obo's restaurant on Cerrillos Road, and its wings come as an appetizer order tossed in the kitchen's signature spicy jerk sauce.
