Eldora Chocolate · Alameda
A chocolate maker and shop on Edith Boulevard that specializes in fine chocolate made without artificial ingredients or preservatives. Its beans come from roughly three dozen countries and are roasted, separated from their husks and conched in the shop's own factory spaces, and blood orange chocolate is among the offerings. Order the blood orange chocolate.
Chocolate Cartel · Northeast Heights
A Juan Tabo Boulevard chocolate shop, in Albuquerque since 2009, that specializes in dark chocolate made by hand and works New Mexico chile into some of its bars. Its truffles come in boxes of four to twenty-four, and there are chocolate-covered almonds and a Mayan hot chocolate too. Order a box of truffles and a chile chocolate bar.
ChocGlitz & Cream · West Side
A West Side chocolate and ice cream shop at Unser and McMahon, where the owner-chocolatier hand-crafts almost all the chocolates on the premises from fair-trade certified chocolate. The glass cases hold hand-made truffles, nut clusters, turtles, fudge, English toffee and caramel corn, and all the ice cream is made on the premises too. Order a cashew turtle and the dark English toffee.
Buffett's Candies · Academy Road
Buffett's Candies makes chocolates, brittle and popcorn at its Academy Road shop, where visitors can watch some of the candy work through interior windows. The larger store joined the original Lomas location in 2024. Build a mixed box from the chocolate case, then look for a bag of the caramel popcorn.
Theobroma Chocolatier · Northeast Heights
Heather Clark learned the craft here as a high school employee, then took over the shop in 2021 when its prior owners retired. Founded in 1996, this Albuquerque chocolatier still draws repeat customers. Stop by the Montgomery Boulevard shop to see what the team is making today.
