The Hendersonville Times-News described a country store and bakery here in 2016 carrying apple cider doughnuts, apple ice cream, pies, fresh cider and cider slushies. The Citizen-Times has carried the farm in its orchard guides since, counting hot cider doughnuts served all day with cider made on site, and in 2022 hand dropped apple cider doughnuts, doughnut ice cream sandwiches and fresh pressed cider. Order the hot cider doughnuts with a cider slushie, then walk the corn maze the Lancasters open on Labor Day weekend. The paper put 2025 hours at 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Sunday.

Danielle Stepp McCall told the Citizen-Times this Hendersonville farm marked 50 years of apple picking in 2019, and that the draw is the 100 acres people can wander. The paper counts a bakery turning out pumpkin and cider doughnuts beside a five acre corn maze, and its 2021 orchard piece says the Apple House market sells apple cider doughnuts, cider slushies and kettle corn. Order the cider doughnuts and a slushie. U-pick opened Aug. 15 in 2025 and the harvest window runs late August through October.

Mackensy Lunsford gave the line at this Hendersonville apple house a whole Citizen-Times column, watching fried apple pies and fritters leave the kitchen fast and the apple cider doughnuts leave faster. She reports the doughnuts are tender because of the acidity of the cider Justus makes from its own apples, and describes them as sugar dusted, slightly crisp outside and airy within. Order two warm cider doughnuts and a cold cider. The fifth generation farm runs 9 to 5 Monday through Friday and 9 to 6 at the weekend, with the bakery ovens closing an hour earlier.

The Hendersonville Times-News, surveying what every Henderson County grower put out for the N.C. Apple Festival, records a farm bakery here carrying more than 20 items, among them apple cider donuts, apple bread, apple fritters, apple dumplings and apple turnovers. The paper also lists the Apple Express train rides the orchard runs. Order a hot cider doughnut and a fritter and take them out to the train. The orchard's own market page names hot apple cider donuts and warm fried apple pies, and lists daily hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
