Three farms inside the Charlotte metro that make apple cider donuts on site, drawn from The Post and Courier's York County reporting and from WBTV's fall farm guides. Two sit in York County, South Carolina, within reach of Rock Hill, and one is north of the city in Mooresville. All three run on the apple and pumpkin season rather than year round.

Windy Hill Orchard & Cidery · York
The Post and Courier traces this York County orchard to a wooden cider press the owners were given in 1978, after which they grew their own apples and never stopped. The paper counts apple cider slushies, fried apple pies, hard apple cider and the apple cider donuts it describes as very popular, all made from fruit grown on site. Order cider donuts at the farm stand and a glass at the cider bar. WCCB says pick your own needs a reservation bought ahead. The stand runs Thursday through Saturday 10 to 6 and Sunday noon to 6.
Carrigan Farms · Mooresville
WBTV reports that this Mooresville family farm sells apple cider donuts and apple cider slushies from its food truck on Saturdays and Sundays, with u-pick pumpkins by day and the Scarrigan Farms haunted trail after dark, and that its tractor drawn hayrides carry pickers out to rows of short apple trees. The Statesville Record and Landmark adds that the farm and the food truck are both cash only. Order the cider donuts with a cider slushie on a weekend visit. Apple picking opens in early September and pumpkin picking at the start of October.
Bush-N-Vine Farm · York
WBTV describes a farm cafe here turning out blueberry and apple cider donuts beside slushies and hot dogs, with u-pick pumpkins and a one mile walking trail on the same ground. The Post and Courier reports the farm has sold fruit and vegetables to York County since 1979, brings its apples down from the North Carolina mountains rather than offering u-pick, and stocks slushies, donuts, pies and apple pie ice cream. Order an apple cider donut at the cafe. WBTV put the fall season at through Oct. 31.
