Nickel City · South Main Village
Each December this whiskey-focused bar on South Main Street becomes Miracle, the touring Christmas cocktail residency, one of a small number of bars nationwide carrying the program's official name. Kitschy decor and collectible glassware fill the room around a professionally developed holiday cocktail menu. Order the Christmaspolitan or the Snowball Old-Fashioned, a returning favorite served with a snowball-shaped ice sphere. The takeover runs into late December, after which Nickel City reverts to its regular whiskey list and its tequila-leaning side bar, Bogazo.
Proper · Magnolia Avenue
Each holiday season this Magnolia Avenue cocktail lounge becomes Holly Daze, wrapping the room in tinsel, twinkling lights and wrapped presents for one of the longest running pop-up transformations in Fort Worth. The bar builds its full seasonal list around returning favorites, including Milk and Cookies, shaken with vodka, white chocolate and cold brew coffee and served with a chocolate chip cookie. Order that one, or the tequila and spiced hot chocolate Reindeer Games, before Proper reopens as its regular craft cocktail self after the new year.
