Food & Dining has followed the operation through its expansion, and the counter format keeps the line moving quickly at lunch.

Robin Garr has been reviewing this immigrant owned local mini chain since 1997, and his 2024 revisit still holds up. The vegetarian plate hides a plain and satisfying burrito of frijoles refritos and melted cheese rolled into a flour tortilla, the kind of quiet plate that shows a kitchen is not coasting on its reputation.

The kitchen has been Louisville owned for decades, and Robin Garr's review of the brunch menu puts a breakfast burrito right next to huevos rancheros and chilaquiles. It now runs solely out of the Bardstown Road room, having closed its original Frankfort Avenue location. The burrito arrives filled the way a morning plate should be, with eggs, beans and real heat.
