Ardent grew out of informal Church Hill garage pop-ups before opening its Scott's Addition brewery in 2014. Its Leigh Street brewery and taproom became a gathering place in Scott's Addition. Order a beer at the production site and spend time in the beer garden that grew alongside the brewery.

The Times-Dispatch calls this Scott's Addition yard more than a patio, describing Ardent's beer garden as an open air outdoor brewery you can walk out of and straight on to the next stop. Style Weekly reported that the brewery bought the 1940s storage and warehouse building it had rented since opening in 2014, doubling its space, with co-owner Tom Sullivan saying the purchase signalled an intent to stay in the neighborhood long term. Order a beer and something to eat in the garden. Street parking thins out in the warm months, so walk in.
