Hazelwood's nonprofit culinary training center runs a fish fry every Friday in Lent, frying haddock to raise funds for its job training and hunger relief programs. Students work every part of the fry, from prep and waiting on customers to changing the fryer oil. Get the fish on a bun or on a plate, with hand-cut fries, slaw, haluski, macaroni and cheese or cheddar pierogies, and a beer from Hazel Grove Brewing, which pours at each fry. Takeout can be preordered online.
