Nicola Blaque was born in Jamaica, served ten years in the Army and graduated from the Culinary Institute of America before opening a 600 square foot walk-up window off West Commerce Street in 2018. It now runs out of a 2,700 square foot room on the far West Side, where the Michelin man and the Bib Gourmand sit on the counter and framed clippings cover a wall. The menu turns on oxtail, chicken and shrimp; order the jerk chicken tacos with avocado creme and pineapple pico, then the bread pudding with rum caramel.
