A candy maker founded in 1927 and run by the Jackson family since 2014, selling from its retail shop on NW 70th Street, where every nut is roasted on site. Peanut brittle is the main product, made in the original recipe and in pumpkin, maple, jalapeno and Hatch chile versions, beside chewy caramel pralines, toffee, fudge, sea salt almond clusters and turtles of large pecans and caramel dipped in chocolate. A portrait of founder Claude Woody Sr. hangs behind the register. Order the peanut brittle and a box of turtles.
