The San Antonio Current calls Beethoven's the quintessential biergarten in the city, with twelve German beers on tap running from Spaten Lager and Krombacher to Franziskaner Weissbier and Warsteiner Dunkel, poured by an all-volunteer staff. San Antonio Magazine reports the hall belongs to a German men's choir founded in 1867 by former mayor August Thielepape, and that its beer hall and garden has become a First Friday destination. Order a Spaten Oktoberfest with the brats and sauerkraut, and take a seat at the blue and white tables.
