Started as a pop-up before landing a Howell Mill storefront and a stand at Truist Park. The Damn Dog piles on truffle aioli, melted mozzarella, caramelized onion and jalapenos, while the Red Dawg goes classic with chili and a cheddar-Jack blend. The range covers indulgent and traditional in equal measure.

Known first for its sandwiches downtown, but the Atlanta Dog holds its own with melted cheese, tangy slaw and hearty chili piled onto a beef wiener. The bun gets toasted in butter so it never turns soggy underneath the load, a small detail that keeps the whole thing together through the last bite.

A Cuban take on the hot dog built with pico de gallo, sweet green relish, crisp diced onion and a bright cilantro-garlic sauce. It comes out of a Krog Street Market stall that draws a crowd for its Cuban plates, and the dog rewards anyone willing to stray from the usual food-hall order.

A dedicated Chicago-dog counter in Avondale Estates using Vienna beef franks dressed the traditional way. Poppy seed bun, yellow mustard, chopped onion, relish, tomato, a pickle spear and celery salt come standard, with no ketchup in sight. The kitchen sticks close to the Chicago playbook, which is why regulars keep making the drive out.

Known first for its burgers in Dunwoody, but the chili dog earns its own following. The chili stays balanced and flavorful rather than an afterthought ladled on, and the kitchen treats the dog with the same care that built the burger reputation, making it a worthwhile detour for anyone already out in the northern suburbs.
