Sweet Home Jamaica · Brooklyn
Sophia and Chef Tony Henry have run this Brooklyn dining room as a family business, and Baltimore Magazine's review describes a long counter with a pastry case of house-made cakes and a sitting room of couches past the tables. Order the oxtails, which the review calls fall-off-the-bone tender and mahogany-sauced, with the peas and rice it treats as another must-have. The jerk chicken reads as smoky and soulful in the same piece, alongside honey jerk salmon and callaloo.
Jerk At Nite Baltimore · Downtown
Chef Loic Sany cooked at Protege and The Inn at Little Washington before taking over this Eutaw Street kitchen, and he walked The Baltimore Sun through the jerk chicken: cleaned with lemon and water, marinated in house, roasted, then smoked out back. Order it over the creamy Rasta pasta, or take the whole red snapper with its blistering, crackly skin, with rice and peas under thick gravy. The counter runs as late as 1 a.m.
Anegada Delights Caribbean Cuisine · Columbia
A Caribbean kitchen that spent four years in Hagerstown before settling into Columbia's Lakeview Office Park in 2018, and has since added a weekday counter inside the Howard County courthouse. The Baltimore Sun lists the fan favorites off its decade-old menu as chopped-cheese beef patties, coco bread whiting sandwiches, and the Mac N Me Crazy with jerk chicken and shrimp. Order the patties and the Mac N Me Crazy at the Broken Land Parkway room, the home base since 2018.
Konoko Jamaican Restaurant · White Marsh
Konoko brings Jamaican cooking and a lively dining room to White Marsh. Braised oxtail arrives in a rich sauce, while the KoKo rigatoni folds jerk seasoning into a seafood cream sauce. The kitchen also works with goat, scotch bonnet pepper, and pimento, ingredients that connect its bigger restaurant experience to island food traditions.
West Indian Flavour II · Park Heights
West Indian Flavour II makes Trinidadian roti fresh at its Park Heights counter. The wrap can hold potatoes, channa, vegetables, and a choice of curry chicken, goat, or shrimp. The kitchen also prepares goat buss up shut with dhal, spinach, and pumpkin, giving diners another route into the Gangoos' cooking beyond the roti that anchors the room.
