Chef Jeremy Kean's fried chicken has been on the menu since his pop up days and is now served all day in Jamaica Plain. At lunch it comes as a sandwich on house made brioche, on Sunday it anchors the chicken and waffles brunch plate, and half or full portions are available at dinner.
Coreanos Allston
A small, stellar Allston spot for Korean style fried chicken, brined, double fried, and tossed in a choice of sauce. The house made yum yang sauce is the sweet and spicy pick, while the sweet garlic soy leans umami, and the Korean Mexican fusion sides round out a quick meal.
Sarma Restaurant · Somerville
Chef Cassie Piuma's Turkish inspired take cures boneless thighs in a dry mustard spice blend, dredges them in flour with toasted sesame and nigella seeds, and finishes with dried green harissa. A tahini remoulade on the side rounds out a dish that has stayed on the Somerville meze menu for years.
