Horn of Africa · North Buffalo
Tsegrada Abera and her husband Samuel, who ran a restaurant in Africa before this, cook Ethiopian and Eritrean food on an obscure stretch of Hertel Avenue near Military Road. Buffalo Rising's November 2025 visit worked through zilzil tibs, beef strips pan-fried in a red wine sauce with red onion and hot and sweet peppers, served on injera, then a vegetarian platter of misir wot, key sir alicha and kik alichi. Step Out Buffalo named it to its winter 2026 essentials list. Order the zilzil tibs.
Abyssinia Ethiopia Cuisine LLC. · Downtown
A returning West Side Bazaar vendor that now cooks from a stall inside the Downtown Bazaar on Main Street. Step Out Buffalo's guide to the bazaar lists beef tibs, doro wat and miser wat coming off its counter, and Buffalo Rising's August 2026 walk through the revamped 617 Main food hall still finds it trading alongside Soe's Kitchen, Pinoy Boy, Pattaya Street Food and Evelina's Kitchen. Order the doro wat, then the beef tibs if there are two of you.
