Lucy Ethiopian Restaurant and Bar · Las Vegas
Founded by four former Las Vegas cab drivers who pooled their savings after banks turned them down, with goat-skin paintings and hand-engraved wooden chairs setting the room. Named for the 3.2-million-year-old skeleton found in Ethiopia, a nod to the country's deep history. On West Flamingo.
Luhena Restaurant and Bar · Las Vegas
Opened by a husband-and-wife team, formerly Cafe Luhena, in a former Mexican-and-pizza space chosen for the Ethiopian residents nearby. Gurage kitfo and a vegetarian platter with collard greens and lamb tibs anchor a menu still drawing a largely Ethiopian clientele alongside curious Strip visitors.
