Muth's Candies · NuLu
Muth's Candies has been in operation in Louisville since 1921, and its East Market Street candy shop is known for the Modjeska, a fluffy marshmallow wrapped in tender buttery caramel. The candy is named for the actress Helena Modjeska; its creator, the confectioner Anton Busath, lost his store to a fire in 1947, and his son gave the recipe to Muth's. Order Modjeskas.
Schimpff's Confectionery · Jeffersonville
Schimpff's Confectionery has made candy at its Spring Street location in Jeffersonville, Indiana, since 1891 and remains family owned. Along with chocolates it is known for its cinnamon red hots, and the shop also serves lunch from its deli and keeps a candy museum of old-time candy and memorabilia. Order the cinnamon red hots and a box of chocolates.
Art Eatables · Downtown
Art Eatables blends bourbon and chocolate. Kelly Ramsey opened the shop on Fourth Street in 2012 with the aim of teaching people about bourbon through truffles, and it sells bourbon balls, specialty chocolates and Kentucky-themed chocolate treats, with sweets for children as well as adults. Order the bourbon truffles or a box of bourbon balls.
Chocolate And Nut Kingdom · Buechel
Chocolate and Nut Kingdom is a candy and sweets shop in Buechel, where individually wrapped gourmet chocolates line an entire wall, gummy candies and traditional Middle Eastern spices fill two cases, and the shelves carry Jordan almonds, Turkish delights, dried fruit, tea and coffee. Its own food and drink shop, Melt Munch, is attached. Order Turkish delights and a bag of the wrapped chocolates.
The Sweet Spot Candy Shoppe and Dundee Candy · Highlands
The Sweet Spot Candy Shoppe opened on Bardstown Road in the Highlands in 2016, selling candy by the bin along with gourmet chocolates and candies that are hard to find elsewhere, and it is now also the home of Dundee Candy. Order from the bulk candy bins, with a few gourmet chocolates.
