Family-run since 1918, Domilise's is a New Orleans po-boy classic tucked into an unassuming Uptown neighborhood bar on Annunciation Street. The roast beef comes sloppy with gravy and the fried-shrimp and oyster po-boys are dressed to order, all built on Leidenheimer bread. A counter-and-cooler operation that has barely changed in a century.

Started inside the Erin Rose bar in 2012 and now with its own Dauphine Street room, Killer Poboys builds inventive sandwiches like rum-and-cane-syrup-glazed pork belly with lime slaw and a collard-greens sandwich with Swiss cheese. The from-scratch fillings push the po-boy past its fried-seafood defaults without losing the format.
