West Broad Bandshell blends Korean and Southern cooking rather than running a conventional soul food menu. Founder Tanika Hamilton was born in Seoul, and chef Romie Cummings is Gullah Geechee, and together they serve shrimp and grits and short ribs alongside Korean corn dogs and kimchi. The restaurant sits on the old West Broad Street stretch of the historic Black business corridor, with a mural honoring bandleader King Oliver inside.
