Baltik's Bagel · Forest Hill
A from-scratch bagel shop on Forest Hill Avenue that kettle-boils its bagels in house and runs a drive-thru window for the morning rush. It took first place for bagels in Style Weekly's June 2026 readers' poll, and the owner is already at work on a second location in Church Hill.
City Dogs · The Fan
A hot dog counter on West Main Street in the Fan, serving a long list of regional-style dogs alongside fresh-cut fries. Richmond BizSense confirmed in December 2024 that the Fan location continues trading even as the original Shockoe Slip shop, which ran for sixteen years, closed and became Cicada's.
Country Style Donuts · West End
A Richmond doughnut shop frying since 1968, with two locations now trading across the metro. Style Weekly's June 2026 readers' poll named it first for doughnut, and the original 1968 shop still runs separately on Williamsburg Road.
