The Jasper · Carytown
The Jasper, the Carytown cocktail bar on West Cary Street, becomes Miracle on Cary every winter, Richmond's original holiday pop-up bar with lines that wind down the street each season. The room fills with over-the-top Christmas decor and a themed cocktail list served in glassware guests can buy and take home. Order the Snowball Old Fashioned, built with butterscotch rye, wormwood bitters, spiced brown sugar and a literal snowball of ice, or the hot milk punch called Bad Santa.
Birdie's · Arts District
Birdie's Bar & Cafe, the open-to-the-public oyster bar and cafe in front of Common House in the Arts District, becomes The Evergreen each winter, covered top to bottom in tinsel and glitter. It is one of the most popular holiday pop-ups in town, with lines that regularly stretch down the block. The regular food menu mostly carries over, with a few seasonal drinks joining the list. Order a seasonal cocktail at the bar, or head down to the decked-out wine cellar with a group.
