Vinnie Van Go-Go's holds a City Market corner, and Connect Savannah's pizza day guide calls it the go-to in town for New York style pizza, with thin-crust slices as big as your head cut from dough made fresh every night. Sauce comes traditional tomato, pesto or white, and the pie takes any of the standard or premium toppings. Order a slice at the counter and eat it on the square.

Chef Kyle Jacovino opened his first restaurant of his own inside the shipping containers of Starland Yard after The Florence closed. Connect Savannah's piece calls it the only local pizza spot hand tossing dough made with a handmade yeast starter, and reports that the pizza sold out every night in its opening week. A few favorites carried over from his Florence menu. Order a Neapolitan pie and finish the crust, which the review treats as the real test.
