The Olde Pink House · Historic District
The Abercorn Street mansion took Savannah magazine's shrimp and grits award in both 2025 and 2026, in a Best of that runs shrimp and grits, seafood and southern as three separate categories. The seafood award went to Erica Davis Lowcountry both years and the southern award to Mrs. Wilkes' Dining Room, which is the split this list is built on. Order the shrimp and grits. Lunch runs Tuesday through Saturday and dinner runs every night of the week.
Vic's On the River · Historic District
Runner up for shrimp and grits in Savannah magazine's Best of in 2025 and again in 2026, and runner up in Connect Savannah's 2020 award for the same dish. The room sits in an old cotton warehouse above River Street, with entrances on both Bay and River, and the restaurant's own listing puts shrimp and grits first among the dishes it names itself for. Order the shrimp and grits. The kitchen runs from late morning to ten at night every day.
Ardsley Station · Ardsley Park
A finalist in Connect Savannah's 2022 shrimp and grits award, and the one pick on this list outside the Historic District, out on East Victory Drive in Ardsley Park. The same alt weekly made it Best New Restaurant and Best Overall Restaurant that year, and Savannah magazine's 2026 Best of named it the city's winner for appetizers and runner up for business lunch. Order the shrimp and grits, then an appetizer off the list the magazine singled out. Open daily from eleven.
The Pirates' House · Historic District
Connect Savannah gave its shrimp and grits award to this East Broad Street landmark, which took the alt weekly's family restaurant award in the same year. The kitchen's own description of the dish is shrimp tossed with andouille sausage, onions and peppers in a rich cream sauce. Connect Savannah's other note is practical: children get their own pirate hat. Order the shrimp and grits. The dining rooms open daily from late morning.
