Askinosie Chocolate · Commercial Street
A small-batch, bean-to-bar chocolate factory on Commercial Street that works directly with cocoa farmers and shares its profits with them. The single-origin bars come from farms in Ecuador, Tanzania, the Philippines and the Amazon, in dark, milk and white chocolate, with classics like dark chocolate with candied orange peel, and the factory shop carries the widest selection, including chocolate-covered mini pretzel morsels in semisweet Tanzania chocolate. Order a single-origin dark bar and a bag of the pretzel morsels.
Bon Bon's Candy House · Brentwood
A family candy shop in the Brentwood Shopping Center on Glenstone Avenue, known for its English toffee, made from a recipe passed down for generations. Truffles line the case, oversized old-fashioned malt balls sit in glass jars on the counter, a back wall is stocked with jars of Swedish candy, and seasonal caramel apples drizzled in milk and white chocolate take the front of the store. Order the English toffee.
