The Candy Factory · Downtown
This Cherry Street shop makes chocolate and candy, and its sugar-free chocolate assortments use sweeteners such as maltitol, sorbitol and sucralose in place of sugar. With those substitutes the favorites stay on offer: peanut butter cups, salted caramels, cherry cordials and English toffees. For anyone who isn't crazy for chocolate, there is a range of sugar-free jelly beans. Order a boxed assortment of the sugar-free chocolates.
Tsokolate Confections · Business Loop
Tsokolate takes its name from the Filipino term for chocolate and makes superfood bonbons, each encased in 72% dark chocolate and hand-painted and hand-tempered so the vibrant colors outside match those used inside. Flavors include black sesame and elderberry, local ingredients go into each bonbon where possible, and the chocolate comes only from farms with fair and direct trade practices. Many of its desserts are gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan. It sells its chocolates at the Columbia Farmers Market and takes orders for pickup here, at the kitchen it shares with other makers. Order the Dubai chocolate bonbons, dark chocolate around pistachio cream and phyllo.
