Nick Sanford started Toss & Fire in April 2015 with a single pull-behind trailer and, as The Daily Orange reported, had grown it into two restaurants and a fleet of wood-fired trucks in under seven years while serving as president of the Syracuse Food Truck Association. The North Main Street shop is the one to sit down in. Order a Neapolitan-style pie straight from the wood oven, and check the truck schedule when the weather turns.

A North Syracuse slice shop at the corner of Taft and Buckley run by Mike Perrucci, who has been making New York City-style pizza with the same ingredients for more than 40 years.
