Aloha Beer Company · Kakaʻako
HONOLULU Magazine writes that this brewery turns its open-air beer garden in Kakaʻako over to Oktoberfest, pouring a limited Aloha Fest Bier in keepsake steins with refills all evening and running a dirndl and lederhosen contest alongside the food specials. The same magazine covered the opening on Queen Street, a two-story space of about 7,200 square feet with three different seating areas for roughly 150 people and a menu built by chef Robert McGee. Order the Aloha Fest Bier in a stein while the October taps are on.
Beer Lab HI Beretania · Makiki
HONOLULU Magazine describes the Beretania Street room as an open-air beer garden with picnic tables under an awning, where the brewery counter is open to the outside and you walk up to start a tab the way you would at any other Beer Lab. Sixteen taps pour the signature and small-batch beers, and this location is the one that added a poke counter, with everything cut in house from fresh ʻahi. Order a spicy ʻahi bowl with furikake and bubu arare beside a pour.

HONOLULU Magazine calls the Kailua taproom biergarten themed and gives a full October Saturday over to the format, tapping a märzen, a helles and a hefeweizen and setting out apfelschorle and lemon spezi for anyone not drinking beer. German-inspired plates run all day, and the room stages its first Brat Boss eating contest at six in the evening. Order the märzen with a plate of that German food on the Saturday, which runs 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
