Bandito's Burrito Lounge · Museum District
A Museum District burrito bar open since 1997, named for the rockabilly songs of founder Sean McClain, who won Style Weekly's best new restaurant award the year it opened. New owners took over in 2020 and kept the name, the concept and the Mexi-Cali menu intact.
KAT'S Breakfast & Lunch · Downtown
The Breakfast Torpedo is this downtown counter's signature burrito, packed with meat, home fries, cheddar and scrambled eggs scented with griddled onions. It runs weekday mornings only, and Richmond Magazine's own writer admits it takes real willpower to order anything else off the menu.
Harrison Street Cafe · Carver
An all-vegetarian cafe by the VCU campus that has been serving students and neighbors since 2001. RVA Magazine's cheap-eats guide calls the vegan burrito a classic, alongside a beer-battered tofu sandwich and a rotating vegan mac and cheese that disappears fast.
