Seattle Magazine says Rhein Haus turned the 6,000 square foot parking lot beside its Bavarian themed room into a biergarten, with picnic table seating, an outdoor bar, fireplaces, outdoor televisions and a bocce court. The Infatuation adds that a night here runs on cheap boots of beer and pretzels the size of your head, and points people at the indoor bocce ball court. Order the Maisel's Weisse, a hefeweizen imported from Germany that the magazine says comes in traditional glassware up to a one liter mug.

Tan Vinh reported in The Seattle Times that the investors roughed up new furnishings to build the worn look of an Old World biergarten, and that the hall runs 7,000 square feet with an outdoor patio and a stage for oompah and polka bands. Sixty imported bottles and 25 taps draw up to 400 people a night. The Infatuation describes one big room of long communal tables. Order a sausage from the cash only grill station, and the white cheddar spaetzle with steak that The Infatuation singles out.
Prost! West Seattle
Seattle Magazine calls this California Avenue pub West Seattle's version of a biergarten, where frosty pours of imported German beer arrive in imported German glassware. Out back sits a rather large patio filled with proper wooden picnic tables and a few umbrellas, which the magazine describes as a leisurely Bavarian oasis that keeps you rooted long enough to order another pint. Under 21 is welcome until 9 p.m. and the pub opens daily. Order an imported German beer in its proper glass and take a picnic table out back.
Gasworks Brewing · Wallingford
The Seattle Times says this Lake Union brewpub holds 250 people in its beer garden and still runs out of seats on a sunny Sunday, with drinkers standing, dipping their feet in the lake or floating alongside on kayaks. Head brewer Kyle Hansen sold more than 35,000 pints in one July filling 16 taps. The paper describes a backyard looking out at houseboats and yachts, and a food program of burgers, fish tacos, poutine and nachos. Order the Gasworks sour and claim a spot at the water.
