Cafe Con Leche · SoDo
A colorful SoDo counter that grew out of the Paladar Cubano food truck. The cubano stays crunchy outside and melty inside even as takeout, and the fries with cilantro sauce are worth ordering alongside empanadas and tostones for the table.
Paseo · Fremont
The Fremont sandwich counter that put Seattle's Caribbean roast pork baguette on the map, dating back to 1994. It changed ownership in 2015 and still draws lines for the slow roasted pork shoulder piled with aioli, caramelized onions, and pickled jalapenos.
Rumba · Capitol Hill
Seattle's rum bar on Capitol Hill pairs a large sugarcane spirit collection with Cuban leaning plates like empanadas, pork belly tostones, and jerk chicken wings, all built to go with a daiquiri or swizzle rather than stand on their own.
Mojito · Maple Leaf
A Maple Leaf spot serving traditional Cuban dishes like vaca frita alongside cubanos, arepas, and empanadas, with tropical cocktails and weekend brunch keeping the neighborhood room full through the week. It relocated to Roosevelt Way but kept its longtime regulars.
El Cubano To Go · Shoreline
A classic cubano built on bread flown in from La Segunda Bakery in Florida, pressed down to a crackly crust at this Shoreline spot. The pork tamal, creamy and corn forward with tangy braised pork inside, is the other standing order here.
