A pie shop from baker Eleanor Taylor that now bakes inside Tea Bar & Bites on South Pickwick Avenue in Rountree, known for its all-butter, flaky crust. The lineup runs from classic pumpkin and pecan to almond plum, Earl Grey cream and sweet potato apple crumble, alongside pot pies to take home and bake. Order the Earl Grey cream pie, or a take-and-bake pot pie for dinner.

A downtown Irish pub on Park Central East whose chicken pot pie is the comfort order: a creamy filling of chicken, carrots, onions, celery and peas served over garlic mashed potatoes and crowned with a golden, flaky crust. The kitchen also turns out Reuben rolls and Scottish eggs, pickled and wrapped in sausage and breadcrumbs before a light fry. Order the chicken pot pie.

A Nixa pie kitchen that bakes to order rather than filling a bakery case: orders are picked up at its North Main Street address or delivered. Pies come on a choice of crusts, from the signature flaky crust to chocolate cookie, graham cracker almond and pecan shortbread, and the fall flavors include an old-fashioned buttermilk pie warmed with nutmeg, a pumpkin crunch with caramel baked in under a pecan butter crumb, and an oatmeal pie of toasted rolled oats and dark corn syrup.
