A Dominican kitchen Nieve Nunez has run on Bleecker Street since February 2021, named for her husband Frank, whose cooking is what talked the two of them into opening it. The Rome Sentinel covered the grand opening the city finally held once restrictions lifted. Nunez wants people to try food from the Dominican Republic without the flight, and says the portions are generous. Order the roasted chicken, the beef stew with rice and beans, or the ox tails.

A Dominican restaurant on Genesee Street in South Utica from owner Amarilys Espinal, named by the Rome Sentinel and WKTV as the sister kitchen to Tu Casa in Yorkville. The menu runs Latin staples: stewed meats, seafood, paella, and Spanish rice and beans. Order the sancocho or the stewed chicken with rice, peas, and sweet plantains, and add a plate of Dominican spaghetti to share.
