Santa Fe Brewing Co. began in Galisteo in 1988 and since 2005 has brewed at its headquarters on Fire Place southwest of the city, where a newly built three-story taproom and beer garden sits beside the brewery and The Bridge event space stands across the way. Under Brian Lock, sole owner since 2002, it has grown from about 2,200 barrels a year to more than 40,000. Order a pint in the taproom and beer garden at the brewery.

Second Street Brewery launched in 1996 to pour fresh beer by the pint for a loyal local crowd, and founding brewmaster Rod Tweet still runs it, now from its Railyard location on Paseo de Peralta and a taproom on Rufina Street. Its Brown Ale took a bronze medal at the 2022 World Beer Cup after gold at the 2020 Great American Beer Festival. Order the Brown Ale.

Rowley Farmhouse Ales, a block south of Cerrillos Road on Maclovia Street, opened in September 2016 to brew farmhouse and sour ales in the tradition of Belgian, French and American farm brewing, and it pours them beside a long draft and bottle list of beers from New Mexico and beyond. Its Germophile Weisse has taken a silver medal at the Great American Beer Festival. Order one of the house farmhouse or sour ales.

Tumbleroot Brewery & Distillery is Jason Fitzpatrick and Jason Kirkman's taproom and restaurant on Agua Fría Street, opened in 2018 as a spot for craft beer and live music. Its beer is sold mostly at its own taprooms while its spirits travel further, and the brewing and distilling happen at a production site on Bisbee Court. Order one of the house beers at the Agua Fría taproom, and stay for the music.
