La Lecheria Railyard
La Lecheria is chef Joel Coleman's craft ice cream shop in the Railyard, steps from the farmers market, with a production kitchen behind the busy counter; Coleman sold his stake in Fire & Hops in 2022 to make ice cream full time. The flavors change regularly, from mango chile lime sorbet and chocolate sea salt to green chile-vanilla, red chile-honey and a vegan coconut miso, made mostly with organic milk and cream. Hello Sweet Cream is Ryan VanderGiesen's small-batch scoop shop in the La Tienda center in Eldorado, open since 2024. Instead of churning air into the base, the shop freezes its ice cream quickly on a super-cold table and forms it by hand, which keeps the ice crystals small and the texture smooth and dense.
