McArthur's Party Cakes · Lemay
The first year this bakery made king cakes, it sold fifteen. Then-owner Randy McArthur sought advice from New Orleans bakers and added praline filling, icing and beads; sales reached 1,200 the next year. In 2023, later owner Scott Rinaberger expected about 500 by Shrove Tuesday. The bakery offered filled quarter-sheet cakes with strawberry cheese or brownie filling.

Simone Faure grew up in New Orleans and makes a traditional king cake alongside bourbon pecan and bananas foster versions, each serving ten to twelve. The Mardi Gras counter has also offered boudin croissants filled with Cajun sausage, rice and pork, plus crawfish pie. Order the bourbon pecan cake early in the season.

This Edwards Street bakery on The Hill sells bread, cookies, baklava, pies and tiramisu alongside its seasonal king cake. The cake is decorated in green, purple and gold with beads, coins, masks and other trinkets. Iced Mardi Gras cookies, cupcakes, brownies and macaroons have also appeared at the counter.
Federhofer's Bakery · Affton
This Affton bakery has made German baked goods and custom cakes for six decades. Its king cake is a twelve-inch wreath of butter dough with cinnamon and sugar that feeds twelve to fifteen people. It can be ordered outside Mardi Gras season.
